to adapt to our ways. The parents in the film (Indian parents) were portrayed as not wanting their daughter to marry or interact with white kids but yet they are in a country with 97.9 percent white kids. Same with Muslims. Stay home if you don't want your offspring interacting with us.
In Britain, on the whole, we are tolerant of other cultures. Other cultures enrich our country. As long as people obey the law. Anyway what is British culture? Scottish, Welsh, English, Irish, Cornish, London? Which culture should they be following?
I have read this thread and laughed, and shall I tell you why?
What about Christian Indians? (there are many don't forget we colonised India) so what if a Christian Indian family with strong moral values is in the UK?
Do we attack them for culture, race or religion?
or what about a white family that was born in India and has moved to the UK yet is not Christian and has a different culture?
See discussion about Race, culture and religion isn't so black and white is it?
The UK is diverse, and this is what makes us a great nation.
Oh and there is no one British culture, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England and even Cornwall have their own traditions. Also the UK ancestrally is a mixed bag, from Celtic to Anglo Saxon we are not native to this Island. Oh and little fact everyone genetically can be traced back to Africa. Embrace it people we are all one human species.
Indians aren't the only ones that want to carry on their heritage, Irish, Scandinavians, East Asians etc. all typically stay with their own - even in different countries, and there is nothing wrong with that. These people don't particularly hate Britain, they just would rather stick to their culture/norm. What harm or difference does it cause? Nothing.
I mean, so long they keep this in their circle and is not harming anyone, there isn't a problem. For example: Muslims enforcing Sharia law, now that's wrong. That's the part where they should leave. But practising Sharia law in their private space? Have absolutely no problem.
