Why did Jack not mention the name Jonathan Wallace earlier? He had at least two opportunities. Plus there is Wallace's body after he died.

If he mentioned the name. They could have found that he was a member of the Coral Snake squad and could probably have proved that the recording was fake earlier.

I've been doing a re-watch and I'm on series 7 now.

Can't remember everything but im sure he still needed concrete evidence it was fake

Back when Season 2 was filmed, E. Cuthbert was at her most physically alluring. The producers were almost certainly more fixated on all of her holes, rather than thinking about possible plot holes in the series

Season 2’s second half is brutal to watch, and gets worse each time I do. The whole Cyprus Recording baloney, ousting a President because he doesn’t go to war on a lie, and not trusting Jack Bauer who literally just saved Los Angeles is ridiculous writing. It sucks because Season 2’s first half is some of the best of 24.

All the more so due to the fact that exact opposite happened in real life, at exactly the same time S2 aired
