I liked it!!

Am I the only person that liked this movie???

I found it beautiful, and almost in a genre for itself....

To me it's a film about life... I've just seen it, and I'm now looking forward to listening to the commentary...

There are certainly a lot of things to like about this film. Although I was first a little bit irritated (cause my expectations after "festen" were so high), it had some really beautiful scenes to think about. I didn't try to see through the story, it wasn't that kind of straight forward. But somehow all fits togheter. I don't know why, but it kind of reminded me to the films of Tarkovskij. Maybe it's all about the feeling you've got by seeing films, and I mean not the thrill or excitment; I mean the feelings you can't describe with words. "It's all about love" was one of these films, and that's what this film made, after all, so excellent.

i know, i'm a bit late, but i loved the film too. a lot. one of the best films i've seen.
maybe i don't get everything in the movie they made, didn't really get what michael did and some other things, but that doesn't matter. it made me feel and i love it when i can't get a movie out of my head. and as i said on another thread, it's not some stupid, tacky love story. it has depth, no matter if you totally understand the film or not. you can always understand john and elena, and that is important and totally believable. to me, that's the most important thing.

the actors were fabulous, joaquin phoenix was brilliant again, he has such a huge screen presence/charisma, and the others were great too, fantastic music, great pictures, i loved it.

oh, and about the killing of the elenas, you actually see only 3 elenas falling down shot.
