Am I the only one that loved the movie?

Robert Redford and Brad Pitt are two of the finest actors today. I believe Brad to be a younger version of Robert Redford, and they worked brilliantly off each other. Brad Pit, in my opinion will go on to be a Robert Redford, act, and do it wonderfully as long as he lives, and helping younger actors.

As far as the movie I thought it was totally underated. Much of my family is in the service, and that is the way things were done in the cold war. For us to believe we never did black ops in China, Cambodia, Laos is ridiculous, as they did in the US with spys.

I loved this movie and think the casting was perfect as well as the acting.

It is a great movie for those appreciate the art of gathering intelligence. There is a lot of subtle(s)that one can learn if one pays attention.

I liked it. Solid, quick paced spy movie. I especially enjoyed the juxtaposition between the new guard (ie the desk jockeys with no experience "in the field") and the old guard (Redford, Pitt, and the others). The new guys had no heart, they were all about $$$ and completing their precious trade agreements while Redford was running circles around them AND manages to save his friend right under their noses.

Is it just nostalgia for "the way things were"? Or does this actually ring true. Something to think about.

I'll watch the last 30 minutes tonight, and I have to say I love this film. Redford and Pitt are great together and I also really like Stephen Dillane, a little known actor, but great in his role in the film!!

Awesome movie.

No, of course not; the first review listed is very positive, and quite accurate. It's not a high-tension thriller like Condor or Red October, but it's very interesting as an exercise in a movie told mostly in flashback, where the james bond figure is in a desk job, pulling strings from the office which has become enemy territory.

One of my favourite movies. I dig the DVD out once a year and watch it again. It shows aspects of the "spy game" that you don't normally see in a film.

I agree is a great movie. Has a very low key "reserved" feel to the action i.e. not massive explosions. Also great acting particuarlly by Redford. Remember when I first saw it 10 years ago and loved it as I do now. Def in my top 10 films.
