Harlen Maguire's M.O.

Watching the movie does make me wonder what Maguire's M.O. as an assassin is. Here's mine: the employer pays him to kill a target. He is paid half up front and half after the job is completed. He plans his moves, and kills the target, then poses as a crime scene photographer to take a picture of the target's dead corpse. Maguire then develops the photo in the darkroom at his apartment, and mails it off to the employer as proof that he's carried out the job (also sending copies to the newspapers just in case).

And why do you think Maguire hangs up the photos in his own home? I think he was a sadistic killer who really enjoyed his work. He saw killing as almost like a sport, and getting paid to do it was just a bonus. He wants the photos for the same reason as a deer hunter wants to get his victims stuffed and hung up on his wall.

He's the original Nightcrawler ;)

Nah, he didn't mail the photos as proof that he completed the job. He kept those photos all over his house. The photos were meant to convey his psychotic-ness.
