I'm kinda glad Tupac didn't get the role
After watching "Juice" and "Above the Rim", it would've been too weird watching him getting smacked around and treated like Tyrese did in this movie, lol

shareI couldn't see pac playing this role either. I think Tyrese was a great fit for it.
shareYeah me 2! It woulda been kinda hard for him to get it with him bein dead for 5 years but yeahhh totally....
shareTupac played a heroin addict in Gridlock'd. A heroin junkie isn't exactly an admirable, masculine character.
Tupac would have nailed Jody. It's an additional tragedy that he didn't live to play him. Although Tyrese Gibson was excellent as Jody, too.
Tyrese was perfect for the role.
sharehe played a soft guy in poetic justice pretty convincingly. pac could act in anything i believe.
shareIt would have been great to see the sex scenes with Pac though. *sigh* too bad.
shareLOL! I think Pac could've pulled it off, he was becoming a very good actor. Tyrese was perfect though, I can't see anyone else playing this role. I agree with the OP, that it would've been a bit weird to see Pac getting smacked around like that but I could see if it Ving Rhames though.
Damn shame Pac never got the chance to do the movie.
"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit me!"- Hudson in Aliens.
Seeing as how john singleton wrote the role specifically for tupac i think he would have been perfect...
"Murder, is not part of your 12 step program"
It would have been different seeing 2pac play a "baby boy". I'm sure if he played it I think he would have brought something different to the movie vs. Tyrese. Don't get me wrong Tyrese was wonderful in this movie but 2pac just would have had that magic.

Huh? 2Pac cried in poetic justice and he got beat up in juice....what are you talking about?
shareAs a matter of fact, he indeed did get the role but as fate would have it, he was killed like two weeks before shooting started.
shareI thought i was the only one. I'm glad too, because Tyrese was perfect for it. He really did it justice. Plus, he is super hot.
sharePlus, if Pac had been alive at the time they did this movie, he would have been 30 yrs old. He might have been able to pull it off but that's a bit old to play the type of character Jody was, the character was supposed to be 20 yrs old. Tyrese still would've been more suitable in my opinion.
shareIf Pac had lived they would've shot Baby Boy years earlier than they did. So he still would've probably been 25 or 26 years old.
shareMaybe, but still Jody's character was supposed to be 20. Tyrese was like 22 in real life at the time of the movie so it just made more sense, than having a man who's almost 30 to play a 20 yr old. Tyrese just fit the role anyway, i'd rather it had been him than Pac.
