1. Being in prison for many years your teeth remains white and intact. With no dentistry

2. Not being able to bathe or shower for many years you do not die of dysentery

3. Jacopo is a maggot

4. You can BBQ rats whole

5. You can survive being thrown off a tall cliff in a sack and survive.

6. You're never to old to learn how to read and understand politics and Machivelli

7. Swimming across from one Island to another is possible. Even when if you had not swam in 14 years.

8. You can bring up multiple boats loads of gold without scuba gear.

LOL...that's the one that really got me. Not to mention the sheer weight. That's Hollywood for you...normal rules do not apply.

Ladies and gentlemen...Mr.Conway Twitty

Were they that deep though? I imagined he dove down long enough to attach a rope and then he and Jacabo hauled it up.

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

But wooden crates underwater for decades would never hold together, as a matter of fact they would have fallen apart while underwater before they even attempted to raise them.

reply

Well Faria did tutor Dantes in physics, perhaps Dantes and Jacapo constructed some kind of pulley system to bring the gold up.

-Digging through solid stone for years is a better idea than trying to escape through the window in your cell or the wooden door .

-Growing a goatee makes you completely unrecognizable to family and friends.

-You can hide tons of rock debris and dirt in dinner plates and a bucket without anybody noticing.

reply

Well the idea they don't quite recognize him is at least plausible. He was very young when he was arrested, they all thought he was dead and now a guy that looks somewhat like him is all of a sudden alive, a count and fabulously wealthy. It took me quite a while to realize Albert is Superman, even after watching this movie for the 50th time again after seeing the first Superman movie. I didn't realize till 3/4's of the way through that Albert was Henry Cavill. And his girlfriend knew pretty much right away, you would think Mondego would have as well.

reply

His girlfriend loved him and actually cared about him. Mondego was never his real friend, and after Dantes was taken away I am sure Mondego virtually forgot about him altogether.

reply

In the book Dantes actually suggested that they dig through the wall and kill the guard on the other side but the Abbe was against it.

It was even worse in the book, the first thing he did after returning to Marseilles was reimburse Morrel who was going bankrupt but he then waited ten more years before putting his plan into motion which I guess makes sense because he would want to establish himself in society before doing anything so no one would be suspicious
