Who do you think is the better Lestat???
I know that you see Lestat in "Queen of the damned" as the storyteller and in "Interview with the Vampire" of Louis view!
I like Stuart Townsend more I love his acting...
What do you think???

shareI saw the movies first. Now I'm reading the books, and I have found that the mental image in my head of Lestat while reading bears a closer resemblance to Stuart Townsend than Tom Cruise. So, for that reason alone I have to give my vote to Townsend.

I must say that I disagree with you. Tom Cruise in my opinon was Lestat. He was just how i pictured him and i am an Anne Rice Fanatic. I must give this to Stuart Townsend though he is a very good actor and he was pretty good in the movie. But i didn't like the movie at all so thats probably why i didn't like him as much as Tom.

townsend played the lestat from the books where he's the narratior dead on so townsend
shareI like Tom Cruise more because I am used to him being Lestat as he was in the first one so in the second one it is a little harder to relate to someone else doing it when you are used to the other one.

Tom cruise, BECAUSE he A) fits the decription (example: LESTAT IS NOT TRANSALVANIAN OR HAS BLACK HAIR!) and B) He potrays the character correctly.

shareI re-read TVL and the begining part of QotD before I sawthe movie. And i n my my mind, from that point on (yes I had seen IwtV several time before QotD). There has never been a question in my mind since viewing the QotD. That Stuart Townsend, in my opinion, in the one true Lestat.

Could care less if they stuck to the original story or not but the movie is a travesty and so is Townsend's acting. He may look the part but he can't act the part. Seems so many are satisfied with looks and image instead of quality and substance. MTV alumni directors need to do what they do best, make music videos not feature-length films.
