Am I the only person who
adores this masterpiece but finds the rest of Nolan's filmography disgraceful?

shareFunny you say this because this is one of his weaker films for me. Inception, TDK, and Prestige all top this hands down.

Yes
sharei don't get how so many people on here are agreeing with the OP, you do realize he labelled the rest of Nolan's filmography as 'disgraceful', agreeing that his movies are overrated is one thing, but disgraceful? they're neither in my opinion anyway, i haven't seen them all yet, i thought Prestige was close to a masterpiece, i thought Memento left more to be desired.

thanks for the reply, i think Nolan is gonna become one of the all time greats, just look how much his name gets brought up and thrown around these forums even on subjects which aren't about his work, now you could say this is just fanboys but lets not forget as much as people may dislike fanboys people have fans for a reason, Messi and Ronaldo have alot of fanboys, turns out they're the two best players in the world.

I partially agree with the OP. This is my favorite film, but I also like "Following" and "Insomnia" (which few people know was actually a re-make of a Swedish film). I haven't seen "The Prestige".
I think his films have inevitably gone downhill since he went Hollywood. "Inception" and the "Batman" are good big-budget HOLLYWOOD films, but signing on as director for films like these is like shaking hands with the Devil. There's too much money and too much interference involved. It's definitely going to compromise a filmmaker with any kind of original vision.
you didn't see the Prestige????
Don't talk 'Nolan' until you've seen it at least twice.

I wouldn't go as far as calling them disgraceful. I've enjoyed all of Nolan's movies - even Insomnia which was not well received.
This is my first time (today) seeing Memento, and I've already previously seen all of Nolan's other films. I've enjoyed them all, but in terms of originality and vision they all pale in comparison to Memento.
I like how Steven Soderbergh for instance, goes back and forth between the big hollywood movies and the smaller indie projects that remind you of his Sex, Lies and Videotape days. I wish Nolan would do the same...

I'm almost with you, but I also like his first film, Following. Very disappointing career after Memento though, for sure.
