Canada and USA are grouped together in terms of movie industry and box office numbers.

Everything I found online said US was January 19th 2001. Memories play tricks in us all the time. Maybe you saw it the following fall in a special release or the cheap theaters. We had one that always showed movies that were about 6 months old, but the tickets were 2 dollars. Hard saying.

It probably had a limited release at the very end of 2000, but didn't get the wide theatrical release until
2001.

This site is tied with IMDb. All the information is the same but for some reason this one isn't. The bios for actors and the plots for movies have the same description for both sites.
