tarantino does it better

This film tries to copy the quirky conversations about the mundanes (e.g. the scene about cow's milk) like Tarantino films, but I think Guy Ritchie was trying too hard. The conversations feel forced. But I guess whenever you want to do a gangster film with black humour and quirky moments and things going awry, you'll always be compared to Tarantino. I'm just puzzled why people think this is brilliant. I enjoyed the movie, yes, but I'd expected this film to be a 7.5-ish.

I honestly don't see that many similarities in the Ritchie and Tarantino styles. I think Ritchie is more about using editing in his storytelling than he is about quirky conversations. But I think that they're both excellent deviations from the crap that most filmmakers are churning out.

Looks like they both sat down and watched the Auaaie films from the 70's and 80;s

The man from hong kong, Turkey Shoot, Mad Max 1 and 2.

ok ill say that Jackie brown is good.
But basterds? horrid, boring and contrived.

Eat the Neocons.

Snatch is definitely its own thing. It only might seem like Tarantino on the most obvious level, like if you caught 3 minutes of it and didn't really think about it. The editing is very different. The visual style is very different. The humor is very different, with Snatch being a little bit more outwardly funny and clever. It's less focused on mundane details, too, and moves at a much quicker pace. The use of music is completely different, and the overall rhythm of the film is unlike anything QT has done.

I think as a whole Tarantino has made more good films than Ritchie, but in regards to Snatch vs. anything Tarantino did (especially Pulp Fiction), it's a case of apples and oranges. They're both good in their own ways.

Tarantino just does it different than Richie. Not better of worse. Both have great style and a keen eye for minutia and a love of dialogue that makes life both funny and interesting. I like them both very much. All except for Kill Bill and that POS Swept Away, that Richie did with Madonna (his wife at the time).

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 1998 Guy Ritchie

El mariachi 1992 Robert Rod.

Reservoir Dogs 1992 Pulp Fiction 1994 Quentin Tar.

seems Ritchie could have had influence from Tarantino and Rodiquez both

Maybe he doesn't answer to Chuck. Call him Charles. Charles!

this movie does not try to copy Tarantino, it tries to copy the movie:

Lock, stock & two smoking barrels

which is a better movie than Snatch
