Why was she so 'popular'? I mean, she didn't seem that popular throughout the movie. She seems to have just 2 friends plus Odin, and I can't see why all guys would 'want' her. For starters shes flat chested and her face is always screwed up. lol just thought that should be known.

Yore discussing two things here. The actress Julia Stiles. And the character Desi.
After 10 Things I hate about You, pretty much everyone wanted Julia. And yes, she's that good. To each their own as far as her looks are concerned. I find her interesting looking and definitely pretty.
As for the character, Desi isn't just meant to be "pretty", if you watched the movie, she's also very likeable. She is friendly, sympathetic, loyal, mature, just... She's kind of the good heart of the movie, given all the other messed up characters.
Apparently Christina Ricci was cast as Desi but had to drop out. So sad. I'm a huge Ricci fan. How do you think she would've handled the role?
