Ellen Burstyn deserved an Oscars

She owns the movie completely.

She was incredibly good, even by her lofty standard.

Yes. I can't believe Julia Roberts got the award over her. Well, I sort of can believe it, but it still wasn't right.

Just finished watching this film for the first time, man what a crazy depressing film but it was really good.

I was just coming on to see if she won an Oscar as I thought she was amazing!

The scene when she is talking to her son and he tells her he bought new tv from Macy. That scene made me cry so hard she was so amazing, I can't believe she didn't win the Oscars

If i recall the camera man got in trouble for "shifting" during the scene..

The director bawled him out, asking why the camera moved during Ellen Burnstyn's scene? Apparently, the camera man said he was crying..

that woman was powerful!!

The scene between her and Harry about the TV was heart wrenching..

But i also think:

The scene where she's walking in the winter down the street in that red dress without saying a word..

Where she's on the train asking if it went to Madison Avenue..

Where she's in the office asking the clerk why she wasn't called..

Where the guys come in and take her away

And of course, her stay at the hospital..

Where her friends come to visit and that one stands up and looks at her.. No words needed to be said..

I agree completely. I love her performance so much. She definitely deserved an Oscar, but it says something that she was at least nominated.
