This is one of my all time favorite 'classic' holiday movies. It just shocks me (well not really since this is imdb after all..) to see people on here giving thousand word essays and rants about how much they hate HtGSC while over analyzing it in the process.
I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.
This movie definitely gets a bad rap.......I recently watched the film all the way through since probably seeing it in the theaters (when I was 12).
It's pretty damn funny; I was entertained all the way through. And I love Jim Carrey and this is a great performance - he definitely gave it his all. The make-up and the visuals are absolutely astonishing. Nobody could've played a better Grinch.
I think it gets a bad rap because it gets compared to the beloved cartoon - hey, I love the cartoon as much as anyone. But I like this movie too. It's at least fun companion to the cartoon. Fun to see the Grinch come to (real) life.
