Authorities investigating the shooting immediately find out that the two teens have gone missing and are wanted for questioning. The mother informs law enforcement that her daughter, Jane, has been seeing the boy, Ricky, next door. Upon questioning Ricky’s parents they find out important details: the mother tells how her son told her he was leaving right before the shooting, the father speaks to how he’d seen his son with Lester, apparently in a sexual relationship. To that end the father shows video that his son took of Lester working out naked in the garage. But most damning, the authorities eventually find the video where Ricky offers to kill Jane’s father with her full approval.

Eventually the teen couple are tracked down and Ricky is incarcerated for contributing to the delinquency of a minor (she was under 18), drug trafficking, and of course . . . murder.

Wouldn't Ricky also be arrested on child pornography charges because of his video of Jane undressing?

Presumably.

There's probably a couple more things we could add.

I'm imagining Ricky's father throwing the gun used for the murder away, blaming his son for stealing it, while saying in all sincerity "I've known him to break into my locked cabinet before -- he confessed to picking the lock in order to show off my my collectables to others!"
