What did this 2000 film "Dancer in the Dark" and with arguably the first appearance of an Icelandic pop female singer Bjork in film as an actress, and directed by controversial and acclaimed Danish filmmaker Lars Von Trier, really try to say, mean, communicate and tell?

That capital punishment is wrong.
shareWell... That may be ONE of them, but, unlike, in my opinion, some films that deal MAINLY with that subject like "A Short Film About Killing" (1988) and "Dead Man Walking" (1995), there seems to be more to it than that.
And also... In this film, it happens to an innocent person and even an innocent woman (whatever that means even in theory to some people out there) to boot, but what if it was someone guilty, would it STILL be wrong, and immoral and whatnot?
