So, was Maggie's sister a lesbian?anyone noticed...?

People, I don't know if anybody else noticed, bit I got the feeling that Maggie's sister was a lesbian...I mean, there is this scene in which Tom walks into her place and sees her with this other latin girl on the couch, Lisa asks the girl to leave so she can have a private conversation with Tom, and girl leaves the place...There is no talk about her - Lisa - having a boyfriend and over all the way she interacts with Tom, reminds me of the interaction between two buddies or a brother and a sister.

Yes, I felt she was a lesbian. But the movie never makes it clear. Maybe in the book it's explained more?

Nah she loved tom and was jealous of her sister. It was so obvious.

She seemed to be scoping for guys at the party, but I definitely got a lesbo vibe when Tom came over - they’d shared a spliff and the emotional Latin lover seemed ‘spurned’ by Tom cancelling the girls’ evening together. I detected lesbo-man-hate from both women.

I think it was an example of proto-woke - an early example of filmmakers sneaking sexual diversity into films, but long before they crammed it in your face and up your ass like they do now.

The replies in this thread are full of proto-SJW’s - leaping to the defence of the poor minorities who need to be protected from evil bigots like you for daring to ask if… someone’s a lesbian. Notice how they jerk off to their own imagined moral superiority. It’s quite grotesque.
