Ken Jennings
I thought he did a good job hosting.
shareI mean he hits all the checkmarks, however he's too generic. I personally don't bother to watch anymore; it's just a bore without Alex. Maybe a future host will make it interesting again.

Better than I thought he'd be. He wasn't annoying like he tends to be at times.

shareKen is a natural. For starters, he manages the timing of the show extremely well. As host, you need to be able to get through each section/phase of the show in order to remain within the timeframe allowed. Hence, he's able to ask the questions quickly and efficiently, offering a fun comment or tidbit here and there, but always keeping things moving.
And obviously you need to be very smart to host this show. The little insights he adds here and there are impressive (just like Alex used to do). And, he remembers things about the guests, which he sometimes will tie-in to a question they may receive. It's makes him personable and likable.
Ken has a good personality, has the smarts and understands the flow and cadences of this show.
Plus, he's respectful of the show and Alex. I can't think of a better person to be the host moving forward.

shareHe's done better than I thought, but I'll admit that I'm biased against him because I've never liked him. One thing I wish he would stop doing is saying "thank you Alex" at the end of every episode. Like everyone else, I miss Trebek, and I wish he was still with us, but we don't need to pay tribute to him at the end of every episode. It's kind of ridiculous. If Trebek had ended every episode back in the day thanking Art Fleming he would have been laughed off of television.
He was alright. Just didn't seem the same. Hard to adjust.

Trebek wasn't some kind of master scholar who knew all the answers. They were all written out in front of him. What he was was a good-looking, charismatic professional MC with a smooth demeanor, a sense of humor, and a good voice. That's the kind of person who needs to replace him.

I'm sure he was a bright man ... but yeah, I'm amazed at how many people don't get this. And maybe the answers weren't in front of him -- for all we know, that podium he stood behind might have had little green and red lights which the judges used to signal whether or not a response was correct.
