Why "Perfect Blue"?
Really...I want to know why this is the title of this movie?! Anyone?

shareActually the title is quite simply explained. It is the director of the film, Satoshi Kon's, hidden signature. His name translated means Perfect Blue. Satoshi in Japanese means enlightenment, as in the Buddhist belief of Satori. One who has attained this state has attained perfection. Kon translated from Japanese means navy blue. Combine the two and you get the signature Perfect Blue.
shareThe Kanji aoi (blue) also pronounced sie as in seishun (approximetly - youthful time), maybe blue here is conceptual for innocense like it is in seishun.
English Language Anime: Dub it, don't pervert it.
Blue definately doesn't represent sadness in japanese, read the earlier posts.
Um... how could it be the director's signature when it's based on a book, once again, read the earlier posts. It really annoys me when people don't.
Based on the Kanji used, it seems clear that blue means inocence.
