How good is this film in your opinion?

1999's "Jawbreaker", thanks.

reply

I enjoyed it quite a lot. It was funny.

It's similar to Heathers (1988) and probably Mean Girls (2004), I say probably because I've never seen it but I know it's considered as a similar sort of comedy to both Jawbreaker and Heathers.

Jawbreaker wasn't quite as good as Heathers.

Yeah "Heathers" (1989) was a great movie. By the way, in 2002, its director Michael Lehmann did the notorious romantic sex comedy "40 Days & 40 Nights" which also had particular troubling material and how rather inappropriately comedically it was handled. But anyways...

Mean Girls (2004) I have seen too and thought was OK. I think its director did "The House of Yes" (1997) - a very good 90s black comedy that is worth seeing.

reply

Moderately good. Afunny dark comedy, but never as funny or bitingly truthful as it hopes to be.

reply

No worries, surprised and kinda glad you've seen it Otter.

reply

Surprised? I like dark comedy, and I'm more than old enough to have seen it in a theater!

I, however, would not surprised if you like it. If you do, enjoy! No disapproval here, not this time anyway.

reply

I will need to rewatch it to properly form an opinion but I think this movie for me will probably be about 6/10, "with" or "without" those (are they feminist? Or just dealing with exceptions with no certain "name" attached to them?) "issues". "Heathers" (1989) by contrast I rate a 9/10.

reply

If that's how you approach watching this movie, you're taking it more seriously than any of the filmmakers ever did!

reply

Well...

How do I or others approach "any" movie?

reply

Approach a movie way you like, regardless of how the filmmakers expect you to approach their hopefully cherished project!

Like I've actually seen all the "Twilght" movies, purely for the unintentional laughs.

reply

And I can't always tell how seriously or not seriously filmmakers take any of their movies they make although sometimes I can sort of predict.

reply

Out of 10, how will we rate this, thanks.

reply

A 7 or 7.5

Good film, great comedy. Nothing truly special or amazing but one of the better in it's sub-genre.

reply

It is alright but to me the real stand out is Courtney she is one of the best mean girls I've ever seen.

reply

Rose McGowan shown that she is a really brave actress to take on both this role as well as to appear in "Scream" (1996) and also "The Doom Generation" (1995) and later "Planet Terror" (2007).

reply

It’s a great dark comedy! 10/10 recommend!

reply

Really, THAT great?
