Bianca is cute, but boring, there a million girls that look like her....while Kat (Julia) stands out. So does someone like Chasity.
shareWhat makes Kat different isn't her looks, it's her attitude. She is true to herself and doesn't care what others think about her, or at least doesn't care that much. In this regard, Chasity is just as "boring" as Bianca. All they both care about is being popular.

Yes, just like in The Taming Of The Shrew, the male characters are drawn to Bianca's pure/virginal, breezy beauty rather than Katerina's, the film's Bianca also exhudes that type of attractiveness, which is why Cameron and Joey, for different reasons, are drawn to her.
I think Oleynik did bring that essence of the play's Bianca to the movie, just like Stiles brought that of Katerina's.

shareI've seen much hotter girls than Larisa Oleynik in public every day, but you need your eyes checked if you think Julia Stiles is better looking! Larisa Oleynik is way prettier than Julia Stiles.
