And I was quite surprised by how bad i found it to be. Especially compared to the first which I still mostly enjoy watching. Lots of recycled gags from the first film that often don't quite land and a lot more poop jokes. My 12 year old self thought it was hilarious but now i just barely managed the occasional cheap chuckle when I wasn't just plain bored. Very much just a lesser imitation of the first film
shareA lot of the Dr Evil stuff falls very flat now. I watched it yesterday and came away thinking that it was made to be seen with a packed audience in 1999 and doesn't have all that much to offer a home viewer in 2020. Nothing wrong with that really, not everything needs to last forever.
shareMini me and fat bastard originated from this movie, if I recall correctly, so it wasn't all that bad. And Alan Parsons Project made me laugh. But otherwise its clearly the weakest of the three (Goldmember being the best, imho).

I love reading this thread. It comforts and soothes me. Michael Myers almost instantly ran out of material. Stuff that makes you laugh as a naive child falls on the cold eyes and ears of an adult. My litmus test for “funny” is: does it make you laugh in your home, alone? This does not come even close. As 1 poster mentioned, it requires the peer-pressure incentive of a packed movie theater. When do you think we will EVER have packed movie theaters again?
