A Prologue/The Aftermath

Has anyone ever wondered what the aftermath of everything that happened would have been? Jake's face is beat in, Alonzo is dead. His unit doesn't have a leader anymore. Jake knows more about the how the corruption works than anyone who isn't on the take should know. And he's proven he's uncorruptable.

Any theories? I think Jake moves to another city and probably stays a cop.

Hoyt's a dead man if he stays in the LAPD.

Alonzo was able to get away with a lot of stuff because much more powerful corrupt individuals were allowing it. Hoyt better find a new career path for sure.

He could work in Internal Affairs.... But they are just as treacherous sometimes.

I always imagined Ethan Hawke's character, Sal, in Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest (2009) somewhat related to Jake. Yes, he seemed to be incorruptible at the end of Training Day, but after several years in LAPD, or any other PD, he started realizing that Alonzo was right all along. Eventually, he moved to NY and became Sal, who shows close resemblance to Alonzo.

The alternative ending shows Jake's talking with the three wise men. They ask about the money, and Jake says he already booked it into evidence. The three wise men look really shaken up when he tells them. We're therefore led to assume that Jake will basically reveal everything, and the truth about the three wiseman, Alonso, and Alonso's boys would come out . The three wise men and Alonso's boys likely go to prison based on Jake's evidence and testimony
