Was Roger going to die no matter what?

If Roger complied when Alonzo and his crew came in, would he have been spared?

Because I got the impression he only needed to die when he started making threats to the three wise men.

There was always the contingency that he would die, that's why he set things up with the drugs. But I wonder if him saying he wasn't going to be f))ked by the 3 wise men sealed his fate. I only just thought of that today and I've seen this movie about 10 times so good pickup :D

I think his goose was cooked from the get-go

He specifically asked the wise men for permission to "cash in an account" who was a "high security risk."

Roger had outlived his usefulness to them

Roger knew too much about Alonzo and the three wise men. If they had arrested him, he would have talked and sold out everyone. Roger was done the minute they decided to rob him.
