Tom Tykwer so blatantly rips off tropes from trainspotting in this film. The pumping techno soundtrack, the fourth wall breaches, and most obviously of all Lola almost getting run down by the car and then placing her hands on the hood while staring down the driver.
I agree with you that when I watched it just now I thought "Trainspotting"! However to say he rips it off is too harsh. Yes film makers learn from each other, like non film makers do, and do copy certain things from others, but this is a brilliant film in its own right. People learn from others, incorporating ideas from other people, and then produce something quite different, but yet with some elements that they borrowed from others. Qudos to you for noticing it, but it has been going on for thousands of years.
The shot from "Trainspotting" where Renton places his hands on the bonnet of the car and looks straight in at the driver, is an iconic image - and was one of the signature images of the film. I expect they did a similar shot in "Run Lola Run" as a sort of nod or homage.
