Frik
Who else thought that Frik was incredibly hot,in his disguise I mean. But I thought he was cute as a gnome too.

Slightly. Must be his accent. I loved the way he spoke in Alice in Wonderland.
"THERE'S NO ROOM!!!"
I was completely head over heels for frik, so trust me, you weren't the only one. ^_^
shareBy the way, when I said 'slightly', I meant 'so. damn. fine'

He's very smooth and gallant, isn't he? And people say Martin Short's not a good actor! I love the character of Frik, in all his incarnations. Most especially when Mab kills Morgan and she and Frik tell each other they are still beautiful.... everybody now, 'Awwwwww'. Then Mab tells Mordred she didn't kill Frik because that's what Frik wanted, and Frik just sobs in misery. He's an amazing character, inside and out.
LOL... and in his last scene, he looks alot like a Harry Potter house-elf, doesn't he?
Aww, I almost cried myself when Frik sobbed his heart out, because Mab took away the only person that he ever loved
I'm getting teary-eyed thinking about it...
Harry Potter house elf? LMAO he does! hahahaha
Oh yeah he's hot! I was completely in love with him when I was younger :) No I kind of have the hots for Morgan Le Fey :P
I am Jill's nipple.
Same! I was like, 8 or something...
I had a crush! hahaha
Now it's like, I'd tap that!
LMAO.
^_~
He was one of my first big crushes. Martin Short was gorgeous as Frik.

Or we have some shepard's pie peppered with actual shepard on top.
Ditto.
He was very yummy in that show.

OMG, I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking this. I just discovered this movie yesterday and I immediately fell for Frik. He's an amazing character. At first, you think he's going to be the stock character of the funny/slightly evil gnome sidekick, but then he evolves into this wonderfully complex, painfully human role. The writers did an amazing job on his part. Plus, and this is just the icing on the cake, but Frik is hot in his transformed state, yum!
Nevermore!
Ew.
Why settle with words what you can settle with a flamethrower?

i think he is amazing looking in this and is the best acting of his career. He deserved the Emmy and it was tragic he did not recieve it. Either way i love him all around!

Oh yeah! I was about fifteen or sixteen when the movie came out and Frik's always been my favorite character.
And I agree with you all about Martin Short's acting...Morgan's death scene was his best scene.
Poor Frik!

I was actually just watching it and although I feel a bit odd confessing, yeah I thought he was pretty hot too! Morgan was pretty gorgeous also (when she was made beautiful, I mean).

He had that charming swashbuckler look going for him. I also enjoyed Frik's character the most in the movie. The actor dis a great job with him. I honestly felt Frik and Author always cared about each other. I think Frik was more doing Queen Mab's bidding but didn't want bad things to happen to Merlin.

I agree! And Martin Short is great as well in this role! He's a great actor but imho often undervalued.
shareWatching Merlin for the first time, and HAD to see if there was a thread with just this topic. Yes, I adore Martin Short for his talent (comedic genius!), but I would never have thought of him as "hot" -- until seeing him in the Lucius-Malfoy-type change. OMG!! Unbelievable!! *fans self* :-D
shareAnyone know what the cap he is wearing is called?
shareI'd call it a close-fitting chaperon; it's loosely based on some medieval chaperons, although the complete absence of a liripipe (the "tail" at the back of a chaperon) in combination with the very close-fitting shape of the hood makes it hard to relate to any particular style or period.
