Insurrection Doomed The Star Trek TNG Movies, Not Nemesis

Star Trek: Insurrection undid First Contact's gains for the TNG film franchise. The following movie, Star Trek Nemesis, never really had a chance.

Agreed, Trek IX needed to build on the success of FC the way Trek III did with II, perhaps a direct sequel (like III was to II) involving more borg?, or perhaps even the Mirror Universe? (at end of FC we see the Enterprise going into the conveniently created worm hole/time tunnel but we don't see it get back to their 24th century..) or just some random action type film Enterprise vs Romulans or rogue Klingons .. or even the resurrection of Kirk bringing back 67y old Shatner and Nimoy (taking plot points from Shatners novel 'The Return') ok they never would've done that after literally burying TOS in the film before last, but would've been preferable (and financially more successful) to what they did..

Insurrection was literally the dullest story/film they could come up with, like the most boring s6 style TNG two parter imaginable (and is kind of similar to Star Trek Beyond in many ways.. )
