Which is funnier? I've seen P.E. and thought it was very funny but I haven't yet seen Half Baked. I just saw Jim Breuer live and he was so freakin hilarious that I'm going to have to rent Half Baked ASAP. I was just wondering, from people who have seen both movies, which one you thought was funnier? Thanks.

Half Baked is better if you just want to relax, have fun, and feel good, and laugh. I'd toke up while they were in the beginning and man was it great. Oh and by better I don't mean better than Pineapple Express.
Pineapple is probably a better movie overall, but both are great.

I absolutely HATED the part with Bill Hader. I love Bill Hader, but that part was absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully, the film got much better after that.
I think Half Baked is the kind of movie you can watch over and over again, I'm not sure the same can be said for PE. Although, I really did like it.

I watched PE over and over again in succession once. But that's because I was baked out of my mind and didn't realise it was replaying. lol.

Both those movies are written differently, and different styles of comedy. I'd have to say that Pineapple express is the better film. but both make me laugh, and are enjoyable. In that light, I wont compare them.
shareHalf Baked is a fat 3 gram blunt, Pineapple Express is a flimsy little roach that's half tobacco.
Metaphor's aside, Half Baked was at least more original also. Pineapple Express, same Apatow characters, same Apatow dialog, same Apatow bowel movements, etc etc.
Plus Half Baked was a stoner comedy. Nothing more, nothing less. Pineapple tried to be like a stoner-action film.
IMO PE is a lot better. I give it 8/10, and Half Baked 6/10.

Pineapple Express is one of those flicks that has sparse funny moments but they are few and far between, and unfortunately each of the funny moments was shown in the trailer about 100 times before you actually see the movie. Mediocre at best, and ultimately forgetable.

shareok first if you do not smoke pot atleast 1 time day there is no point on commenting this thread the guy that said he didnt laugh once was obviosly not high or else he would have laughed at something stupid in the movie not even meant to be funny so go smoke a j you comformist haha but picking between pe and hb is like choosing ass or boobs, chocolate or vanilla all depends what kind of stoner you are; they both have hilarious casts and great main marihjuana men. dave chapelle is more lazy chill laid back stoner (like saul from pe except white) seth rogen is funny in an insulting and making things that arent funn funny like a car chase while high or getting into a full on gun war with the asians im more a laid back stoner so i have to give it to half baked but pe is not far behind it smoke and watch both and it will be the best4 hours of your life promise
