It has Tom Cruise in it.
Very good movie..creepy second half with "Musica Ricerata" piano music in it..and the secret club at the mansion (sort of like the next year movie "Skulls",the entirety of which had secret meetings..)
shareI absolutely agree. I watched it when it came out and didn't like it. Seemed fake, but, for years, I chalked it up to the fact that, just maybe, it was because I was 18 at the time and didn't get it. Saw it again recently and still have the same feeling. I love the visuals, Kubrick was a true artist, but both Cruise and Kidman were absolutely wrong for their roles. I saw dumb comedies with more heartfelt performances.
sharecruise was perfect for the role... captures the ego and self-centredness of the character well... highly underrated movie... i remmeber the scathing critics and commentators as well as regular viewers that thought the movie was garbage when it came out... theyve been proven wrong...
Glad to see that with tjme it has become recognised for the masterpeice that it is... it's part of the culture now
Cruise is clearly not among everyone’s favorite actor (definitely not that one poster's up here), but in my eyes he is a talented and committed actor who’s been perfectly cast in a number of movies directed by top-notch directors. In EWS, I thought he delivered a very strong performance... so much so I couldn’t picture anyone else being more suitable in the role. The film as a whole is wonderfully strange and enthralling.
