If you can't be bothered, it goes like this; He got taken off the Weekend Update desk, because Ohlmeyer said he wasn't funny. He wanted to leave, but NBC cock blocked him from getting another job since he was under contract. So he got paid to show up and do nothing for a few months.
I assume he simply went along his way when the contract was up. Pretty sure he didn't quit or get fired. Not that they would have been clamoring to renew it or that he would have wanted it renewed.
