How many people liked the style of the movie?

It's an unremarkable story full of familiar tropes that was over-directed into a near-nightmare. I don't think I'll ever watch it again.
Having said that, I enjoyed it for what it was, since Stone seemed to have accomplished exactly what he set out to do. He returned ever-so-slightly to this form in "Savages", though with more restraint.
In the same "low life in a small desert town" movie sub-genre, I prefer "Red Rock West" and Breakdown". Heck, I think I even liked "Blue Desert", "White Sands" and "South of Reno" a bit more.
