This movie is not very good. stylish? maybe... but I prefer substance!

In fact, this movie just sucks. The story is pointles and I just didn`t care what happend to the characters in this movie! In my opinion, Its a total waste of film.

SPOILERS!!!

The man has a decent point. Style is good but substance is what makes the movie flow. The story is pointless in the sense that all the characters die and nothing changes in the end, none of the character's change themselves. There all crazy, greedy, horny as hell, dangerous liers who aren't every going to change. You watch a film like U Turn a couple times, just because you enjoy the movie's style. It's a werid movie I can easily understand why Oliver Stone doesn't talk about. With films like JFK, Nixon, Natural Born Killers, Born the 4th of July not to mention Platoon why would he talk about this Razzie nominated picture? I liked U Turn however. I got the dvd for real chip and I enjoy the movie's distrubing/werid style. Sean Penn probably doesn't even remeber working on this movie. A film time forgot.....

BS. It has a plot. Just because it goes style crazy and makes every moment some sort of revelation does not mean the substance is not there. Style is not bad and can be its own substance.

I loved the psychedelic, ADD style of this film. I agree it is more intense than NBK but in the same vein. It is not all about objective reality but also shows flashes of the thoughts of some really twisted minds.

I love it. The style makes the film and everything else is just a bonus. This is truly a director's film. And to me, a classic.

I really liked it. And the style is tied in with a good plot. I thought it was amazing, I LOVED the mood of this movie. What a vibe! I loved the music too... wow wow wow

I love everything about this movie!

Cult classic for sure, with all the right actors.

It was an unpleasant film that I couldn't stop watching.

The choice of film stock, the music, the cast...all great choices.

I loved the style of this movie and in my opinion, the best style any of his movies. I really hope stone tries to copy this style and apply it to his upcoming film "savages". Savages(the book) almost seems like it is set in the same universe as this film.

Unpleasant dark and brilliant fil. It shoud have had some Joy Division music - something which would have not spoilt the country effect

I liked the style of this movie, I think it's a much better story than Natural Born Killers.

I believe I read somewhere on the web that the way it was filmed & edited was an experiment Oliver and a friend were working on.

I really like those flashing images they kinda remind you of certain things that had happend earlier in the movie, for example if you forgot where Bobby put his gun, you and bobby are simultaneously reminded where he left it through the flashback image.

All in all, a wonderful movie with a spectacular cast. I think I will never find out why it didn't turn out to be a succes, it has all the ingredients to be so.

This, Born on the Fourth of July, and NBK make Stone one of the top five American film makers of all time. Even if he hadn't made a handful of other great films ...
