Will it get remade eventually?

Since Disney's become so remake happy lately with their animated movies I can't help but wonder if Hercules is bound to get the remake treatment at some point.

If it does eventually get remade though, I can't help but feel it's going to be difficult to do these characters justice or replace them. I really can't envision anyone else other than James Woods as Hades and Danny DeVito as Phil. Though I will say I think Chris Pratt would make a great Hercules.

You mean remade into a live action or cartoon?

I think this kind of movie had a propper closure so I don't think this will get remade or a sequel, anyway don't worry about James wood, unless the casting directors are dicks James woods will always be hades, he said he will always be hades if they offer it to him

I meant live action, my bad.

That's what I'm worried about too, I know about the whole James Woods reprising Hades whenever he's asked, but if they remake Hercules as a live action movie, something tells me we might not see him return to the role.

What about Benedict Cumberbatch as Hercules. He's a great actor and I just think he would be a great live action Hercules.

The Sword in the Stone is also a less popular Disney work, but that hasn't stopped plans for a remake.

The real answer is that no one has been reported as to pitching the idea of a Hercules live-action remake, and if that has been pitched, the announcement has not been made yet or was rejected. So, no one knows if there will be an eventual remake.

Perhaps there have been too many live action Hercules films lately, one of which was a disappointment and the other was both the definition of being a critical and box office failure.

The Russo Brothers were supposed to be producing a live-action remake for Disney. That was reported years ago though.

Yes, Guy Ritchie is doing the remake. It's official. And the Russo brothers are producing it.

No need for a full-on remake. Just dust off a few of the Steve Reeves Italian-made Hercules movies, run ‘em through a video processor and edit a new film.
