Which guy would try to impress girl by having a history showdown?

Actually I've been to a college or university as we call it over here. And I know plenty of university students and I would say all of them would regard a guy like blondie as a douchebag. And the college girls he actually might impress with his sh!t are the ones who aren't even in the bar, because they are in their room studying.

Don't know what Harvard students are like but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are huge douchebags who all think they are going to be the next President of the United States.

The whole scene was pretentious. Nobody regurgitates historical information like that as if they had a tape recording inside them, and if they did, it does not come out as smart, but just pretentious. Also, his penchant for predicting everything the other guy's thinking is really over the top and silly. I thought this, and the scene where he sits with the professor doing math problems on the chalkboard were the weakest scenes in the whole movie.

I know that Will read it as competition over Minnie, but I think that the Michael Bolton clone saw it as trying to call out Ben Affleck for posing as a Harvard student when he was the one working hard and studying and paying $150k for the education.
