shareI think that George Clooney to some people, often times comes across as that smug, pretentious elitist liberal type who likes to tell people who they should be better people.

It's because many of his characters were annoying, opinionated, and talked too much. The worst part I ever saw him play was this irresponsible moron in "One Fine Day." I can sort of tolerate him in this film, but he only can do so much as Batman. He doesn't have the charisma or deepness Val Kilmer did, but he at least has a few funny lines.

shareI'm not going to go into Mr. Clooney's politics right now but what really perpetuated me in relation to his approach to Batman is when he during the press junket for Batman & Robin practically dismissed the notion that Bruce Wayne has to be this tormented individual who was continually haunted by the murder of his parents. He said Bruce has virtually everything that most men want (wealth, all of the toys and gadgets that you could be, access to beautiful women, a permanent status in high society), why should he still be bummed that his parents are dead.
shareHe can do his take on Batman's character as he wished tho. It's just another take. Batman is a fictional character anyway. Well, in the end his version sucked. Just like Leto's take of the character Joker.
shareYes. That was Joel's decision to make a much more lighter personality in the Batman grieving arc. I think he was more focused on making style over substance even with the characters in this movie.
