Why involve natural disasters and violent criminals when you have Giant snakes because then, this dissolves quickly into the MEG 2 Territory where 1/2 the movie was spent in the Trench as our heroes battled avoiding Megalodons while fighting Eco Terrorists who wanted to blow the Trench up and this is in a shark movie. Once you got to the 2nd half of the movie, then it picked up like a shark movie should, but again it needed more CARNAGE. If they're reimagining this, then leave out the subplot of the violent criminals and natural disasters and just keep it straight and go with Bigger is better approach like they discovered TITANOBOA
