90's movies: super patriotic?

This just occurred to me the other day; like half of 90's action movies had a highly patriotic theme... Armageddon, Independence Day, Air Force One, Deep Impact, etc. *Feel free to list of more. These movies are so non-cynical and give a highly faithful message about unity with the government. Is that just a reflection of the times? Bill Clinton was in office and things were going good. People had money and America policed the entire world.

That's what I get out of it. I feel like if you're a kid in the 90s, your Vietnam vet uncle will take you to see Air Force One in a gas guzzling SUV, buy you as much popcorn and candy as you want, and when Harrison Ford says "get off my plane" your uncle will be like "yeah!!!" Then when you're leaving the theater he'll tell you - "Harrison Ford really kicked butt didn't he?! He got the bad guys machine gun, pretty awesome!"

Pretty much yeah lol!

Well yeah, cuz we won the Cold War!

Yeah, they weren't woke to hate their own country and everything about it and desire to see it ripped up from the roots as the most evil entity on the Earth.

There still was some unity in the '90s, in spite of Clinton's personal character flaws. The shit hit the fan when liberals wigged out over Bush Jr., and there's been no unity ever since. Probably never will be again.

Our generation, we want to thrive in our world, not destroy it like today's generation.

Good luck rebuilding a world when everyone thinks welfare and free healthcare belongs to everyone and it is a RIGHT. Good luck when you have destroyed the only entity in the world that can actually pay for those things.

Good Luck you bunch of foolish idiots.

You're f'd.

Yes

I disagree. The Captain America trilogy was released only in the last 12 years and you can't get more patriotic than that. Not too mention, Pearl Harbor came out in 2001
