Is it true every american would give his life to save the president?

It seems to me that the president of the United States is some kind of Pharaoh and the whole kingdon would happilly sacrifice itself to make the president happy and safe. At least this is what i see in movies.

Where do you get that idea? This movie certainly doesn't present that idea.

To me, I think the original poster has never served a day in the military, law enforcement or any governmental position. He is not a patriot, a loyal American, or even understanding of what patriotism or loyalty is. Obviously, he skipped his American Government class in high school, does not stand up during the National Anthem, or recite the Pledge of Allegience. If you don't care to sacrifice your life for our leader, stand aside and let someone who will take your place. Many who serve in our military, law enforcement, the government, and are upstanding, loyal, patriotic Americans, would gladly do whatever they could to save the life of the President. I might add that many Americans would do the same even without a sense of duty or sacrifice. They would do it because they are human beings, and preserving life by sacrificing your own, is the right and moral thing to do.

I think anyone older probably would, but asking anyone younger is a bit messed up. I mean when someone holds two people hostage, a young child and the president (an adult), who would you want to be killed? Usually the older person should die because the younger still has to live their life.

So considering most Americans are probably younger than Ford was in this movie, I would say that the majority would not, which would mean, not every American would.

Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)

Some people will give their life to save random strangers, so I am sure some would the president. However, most people have survival instincts and as others have said, the president is not a pivotal person that our sovereignty depends on. I think a lot of people would want to deny an enemy that victory though, and that would probably be a huge motivating factor for some people to risk their life.
