Of course, not literally gender-bending the "Oz" characters, just a similar concept in a women's maximum security prison.

shareThirty-Five years ago I used to watch something called "Prisoner: Cell Block H" set in an Aussie or British prison! It was all female for the most part and ran for years every night at 10 pm in the U.S. IIRC!

shareThat's what I was thinking. People kept telling me to watch the Orange show and I haven't because I watched Oz during its original run. Seems like the same thing, down to the explicit nature, confronting events and violence. I'm sure it has its own thing going on but I've only got space for one prison show in my life!
