I loved Scream 1 and still do - it’s the perfect slasher whodunit mixed with perfect dose of humor thrown in

Scream 2 was a very solid sequel but the killer reveal hurts it a bit

Scream 3 was a decent sequel but is a bit silly in places

Scream 4 was when the series lost a lot of steam - I just cannot get into this one and remember being bored when watching it the first time . I’m not sure what went wrong writing or filming but it just feels so meh

Scream 5 & 6 are both decent sequels - they are better than I thought they’d be but I’m honestly tired of the entire Scream shtick - I don’t care anymore about who did what(and why) and the characters are not funny or interesting to me at all. I don’t think anyone(not even craven & Williamson on adderal) could do these sequels any better but the magic is just long gone for me. I wish it wasn’t but it is and I don’t see it coming back

I guess scream 7 is coming out? They should have ended it already .

I only like Scream and Scream 2. I had no problem whatsoever with the killer reveal in the latter, but on repeat viewing the inconsistencies and unlikely coincidences in the undeniably very tense third act become annoyingly apparent.

I only claim 1-4. The ones they made without Craven are super lame.

1 and 2 are classics. The second one probably would’ve been better if they didn’t have to change the script after it leaked.

3 feels more like a parody

Everything else is dreck

Yeah even though I can enjoy Scream 3, I definitely understand why folks don’t like it. It just didn’t have the magic touch that the first 2 had. I still give it credit though as it’s still far from terrible

The original was a terrific, smart horror film and is becoming a classic.

The sequels mostly seemed like pumping a dry well.

Yep. I’m quite shocked they are still making sequels as they keep recycling certain things and my mind is just numb to it . The ending to Scream 6 was so damn bad

I only saw the first Scream movie and through it was rubbish and not scary or original or interesting.

When did you first see Scream? I do wonder how well it stands up to modern audiences .. ? Scream 5 & 6 have done very well so I assume the first one still packs quite a punch for many

I love this series. I don’t know why, I just do. When it comes to the first four, my favorites are 1,3,4. Scream 2 is my least favorite even though I still like it.

Maybe I am the rare fan who likes all six installments. I never got into the Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween series. I saw the first two Halloween films and liked them. But I don’t own the series. With Scream, I have all six. Something just captures my interest about this series.

I own them all except 4. I've never been able to get into that one. But it's a fun franchise. Overall I think it's far more consistent than the Halloween franchise, much as I do like the original H1 and H2.
