I remember seeing this advertised on a billboard
I can remember being on a coach journey from college and seeing Mels big pensive mug on a huge billboard as I was nearing into town.. it was there for a few months maybe and was like a beacon of homecoming for me around that time
Funny/strange to think that 25years later Mel wouldn't be anywhere near a billboard (although he probably was for Expendables3 in 2014 and should've been in 2015 with Mad Max 4)and even an action thriller would be unlikely now (covid not withstanding). instead it'd be some superhero
I can't recall if I actually went to see Ransom at the theatre or if I just caught it later on vhs (I know I owned the vhs for however many years) I think it was just a vhs thing for me but Ransom was definitely on my list to see as it was Mels follow up to Braveheart (which was like the Titanic/Gladiator of its day) as well as Rons follow up to Apollo 13..i just dont think I got around to seeing it at cinema (same with Conspiracy Theory the next year..idk why mustve been too busy and neither movies were 'must see' for me like say Lethal Weapon, Bond, Star Trek etc )
