Smoking a cigar on a space station - HAHA - so dated
You can't hardly smoke anywhere these days - let alone in an air locked cannister in space.

shareYe I did think to myself "ARREST THAT MAN!!!"
shareI don't recall what date the movie assigned to the space station but it really doesn't matter. It is obviously on a technical level with Star Wars/Star Trek. A huge structure with artificial gravity (A near impossibility that spells DISTANT FUTURE) served by ships that blaze along on some sort of magic space drive...
What I am saying is that this is too far a future to assume that contemporary rules apply. Air replenishment in the age of artificial gravity and glowy magical power sources may not be any kind of problem. And smoking might harm nobody if their bodies are patrolled by medical nanites or cleansed by Dr. McCoys Trek-Tech sickbay.
