Ruh Roh...Natalie sees her past role differently now

I gotta say though, even though her Marty character displays a puppy love for an older character there was never a hint of sexual activity in the entire movie. Willie (Hutton) was mused by Marty's youth which made him reflect on his own younger self as a teenager.

I wonder why Natalie feels inclined to inflame a good movie with the stain of #MeToo-ism?

because it got her name in the news for a day or two

The whole point of their interaction ultimately is to show how immature he still is. It's he who is reading too much into it, and taking it too seriously.

Ok but I'm addressing Natalie and her latent dislike of playing this type of role all these decades later.

I'm agreeing with you. Their connection is on a soul mate level rather than a sexual one. But it only goes down that way b/c he's stuck at a stage that's younger than his age. And Portman should be angry at her mother as well, since her mother was the one peddling her all over town when she was young. I'm sure there were plenty of creepy guys around, but her mother would know that too.

I just read that interview.

Good God she is either a confused soul or a complete narcissist.
