Masterpiece
With all matrix on board and other stuff going, I can't believe I missed such an art form, I rarely allow movies that deeply inside my head, only couple actually, but hey here it is, I'm so happy I've seen this now.

shareOne thing is, the "contemporary" scenes from 1990 and 1996 don't look to anachronistic at all. You still see a lot of those models of cars around, and except maybe for the big old TV sets those scenes (3/4 of the movie) still look contemporary. They'll be able to sell the movie as depicting "today and the future" for a long time to come, before those scenes begin to look very dated.
shareMy favourite time-travel movie, mainly because of its consistency with the inability to change history.
And my joint-favourite Gilliam movie, on par with the magnificent "The Fisher King".
Gilliam captures such great performances from his actors.
Star Stuff
A good movie, hardly a masterpiece. It aged pretty badly, some of the acting is really bad (Brad Pitt, WTF happened?) and the time travel aspect was handled poorly. Not detailed enough, and too random.
