The tough question...favorite character...?

Personally, I loved Mark, Deb, AJ & Lucas. It's so tough to pick just one!

Lucas, Deb, Berko, and Joe. If I have to pick one out of those, probably Lucas. He was just so funny and killed it in every scene. I liked Deb because she was more developed than many others in the movie and I loved how you got to see her layers as the movie went on. Berko was rather two dimensional in the movie: cliche bad boy rocker with a caring heart, but I still loved him every time he came on screen. Joe was just so enjoyable to watch as he reacted to everything going to sh*t in his store. He wasn't your typical boss.

None.

AJ for the corny reason that he is basically me. Couldn't come to terms with quitting, couldn't get ambitions straight, loved a beautiful and super smart girl and didn't know how to tell her...only I wouldn't be capable at all of fixing that Empire Records sign

Probably Lucas.

And Deb.

Jane, A.J., Debra, Corey, Gina and Mark are my favourites.

I know this thread is wicked old but had to chime in.
Joe is the best. Awesome boss and just a chill guy considering how he reacts to all the *beep* that happens in that store.
As far as all the girls go it's a hard choice. I usually end up with girls who try to pretend to be like Corey but actually think like Deb and really have Gina's questionable moral compass. But I think I'd say that Gina has the best role in the movie because she actually shows some range of emotions as a character. She's fun and acts like a slut but that's just because she's actually the most damaged of them all. And I love when she sings at the end. She can't sing worth a damn but she's having fun with it anyway.

Joe! He's the real heart of the film.
