Don't understand the hate. This was FUN

It's a great B movie and not mean't to be taken seriously. Ernie Hudson and Tim Curry stole the show in this flick. The gorillas looked pretty cool and were intense at times. This movie gets bagged on way too much. I remember when KB toys had the action figures for this movie.

You guys should see the marathon I did for this movie titled When Monsters Roam Free. You can check it out on my blog.

Michael Crichton was catapulted into high regard after Jurrasic Park. People were expecting a similar quality product from Congo. It was promoted in Pepsi commercials, happy meals, and all over movie making programs like HBO's behind the scenes. It was hyped and the end product was fun but not the blockbuster we saw with Jurrasic Park. So, people trashed it.

I loved it as a teenager. Not so much when I saw it later.

Dylan Walsh as the main protagonist is so boring and the whole thing feels like an Indiana Jones meets Jurassic Park failed experiment.

I enjoyed it - and I particularly liked Ernie Hudson in a lead role and Laura Linney kicking arse. It's a fun movie as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Saw this in the theater as well. I've grown more fond of it over the years. Great cast and solid animatronics. I find myself wanting to watch this every year, usually summertime but also Halloween.

TO THIS DAY I SAY..."DON'T WANT NOBODY PEEKING" AND "STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!" ON THE REGULAR.
