Does anyone know Other films with impressive scenery?

Hello,

I'm looking for other films which include impressive scenery like "River Wild".

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dirk

Well there's too many replies to read through to see if it's already been mentioned, but the film Mean Creek has scenery quite similar to this film.

Also, Lord of the Rings for just general, all over good scenery. :)

Greg Mclean's follow-up to Wolf Creek, Rogue. It's set in the Australia's Northern Territory (Arnhem Land), where tourists don't usually get to go, and the river and scenery are stunning, even if there aren't any rapids :). The film's not bad, either, and would probably have done quite well if the Weinsteins had stood by it.

Funny you should ask that. I was watching The River Wild and thinking that the slow buildup was actually pretty similar to Rogue's. TRW's a better film, though.

These aren't films with a storyline or plot per-say, but they are full of amazing scenery and cinematography nontheless. Not all of it 'beautiful' or serene I might add.

Koyaanisqatsi.
Powaqqatsi.
Naqoyqatsi.
Baraka.

Look them up on Wikpedia and the trailers on Youtube to get an idea of what they're about.

Horror flick called "Rogue" about a large maneating crock. Nice shots of Australia. Personal favorite blu-ray of mine is titled "Over America" Hi-def video of the United states taken from a helicopter. Shows you some of the major cities in the US, and national parks (Grand Canyon etc....) Great scenic day, and night shots thoughout the documentary.

Cannibal Holocaust. The Amazon is a beautiful place, and the "theme song" of the movie goes very well with the scenic opening credits.
