Quiz Show is so much better than the other films that were nomintated (and yes, I have seen all of them). The slick directing, the vivid screenplay, the stylish cinematography, the great performances, everything in this movie was an example of film making of the highest quality. It deserved everything it was nominated for, and should've been nominated for (and won) other categories.

In many other years it would have been a definite possibility, but 1994 is one of the greatest years ever as far as movies go.

It's a great film. I'd rate Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, this and Shawshank all 9 or above. 4 weddings i'd give at least an 8. This was one of the 2 best years for American cinema in the 90's, equal with 1999. It's a wonderful film, the script would have won every other year if it weren't for the brilliant competition. I do think the script deserved to win over Forrest Gump, though I do really like Forrest Gump.
shareI had forgotten this film was among the nominees. All anyone ever talks about is Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, and Forrest Gump. I think Ed Wood was the real Best Pic of '94, but I do like this film a lot. This is definitely one of the stronger years for Best Picture nominees.
