I do not usually reply to stupid and foolish threads and posts, however, if the first one who started this wasn't bad enough???? Absolutely the most stupid and childest statement I have ever seen, and Iv'e seen a lot very silly remarks & comments here, in other threads of course.
I have always loved "my Girl" The original and I went to order it a few days ago. That was when I found out there is a Part 2. I received my movies this evening and couldn't wait to open them more excited to put this one in, I couldn't wait to see this and I have it in the player now. So far it's good. But I went on here to look and see what Anna is doing now. She turned out & she is beautiful and working still in a new 2008 production. I will look for it.

I could not even consider replying to anyone who was bothered by her first beautiful kiss from a boy she just met who is not any realation to her. I could not give a second's worth justification to such a stupid judgemental comment! How judgmental! I wonder if these youngsters if not young, at least there brain didn't develop to adult hood. I actually didn't find the original post foolish at all. The real issue in question is: are you against non-blood-related incest. If two step-siblings got together, some people would find that wrong too. Family relations through marriage can get fairly long and complex. The kiss between Vada and Nick is definately considered incest-through-marriage (even at somewhat of a distant chain), and you'll have to accept that some people find that wrong. Personally, I don't care, but it did cross my mind that it was odd. The scene added nothing to the movie, and as you can see from this thread that it offended some people. If they had left it out entirely there wouldn't be any problem. I enjoyed the movie for what it was. However, your rant for calling the thread "stupid or foolish" is totally uncalled for simply because you do not share the same moral principles as others.
shareIncest is sexual relations between BLOOD relatives. The son of an uncles girlfriend is not blood related to the uncles family, even if they WERE married. It is not incest people.

Well, it didn't bother me that they kissed, but i did wonder what would happen after the uncle and Rose got married. I mean, would vada and Nick go out, or was that kiss just a pointless one time thing?
shareActually to be perfectly honest i don't know about America or anywhere but i've heard that in the UK its legal to marry your cousin blood related or otherwise, although if they're blood related people get grossed out, its still legal, also legal to to marry step brother/sister. I agree with most of you it is no way incest especially since they don't share a bloodline. Do those of you who find this gross not remember how they (Nick and Vada)talked about how they wouldn't be related(or only by marriage)if his mom married her uncle. It is not uncommon for people to meet each other through relatives even boy or girlfriends. I also don't think it was a one time thing because in one of the last scenes Vada mentions Nick is visiting her during the next vacation (I don't know if she meant just him or if he was including the rest of his family.)
other ppl have pointed it out, and so will i, lol, they were not blood related, and even if they the uncle and his mom got married, they'd only kinda be related, by marriage, and then, for them to really be cousins, the uncle has to adopt him as his son. ok, made my point, later!
