VFX don't hold up

Don't get me wrong, I love this movie (I watched it so much as a kid that I memorized every scene), but I just caught the end on TV and my God, most of the the effects don't hold up anymore, as amazing as they were when it debuted. I can't believe it's been 20 years . . .

They went the route of making the effects cartoon-like, which was OK for Stanley.

They really delivered with that lovable, talented little dog, however. And he was strictly the real deal with his acting.

They're meant to be cartoonish.
Exactly and that's why they still work well. This ain't no sci-fi extravaganza.🐭

they still look great to me..

Oh shut up, who cares. They still look better than most *beep* released today

I think they do.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

they've aged better than most movies and still look impressive for 1994 vfx

Seems to me, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Just my two cents, but the fx in this movie DO hold up and look stunning to this day. I remember being blown away by the effects in this movie and The Shadow back in the theaters. They both have their charms still, but The Mask's fx holds up so well because it was never trying to be realistic.

Just watched it again for the first time in ages and I agree the effects are still tremendous, even if it had been made today if it looked this good I can't see anyone complaining.
